Difficult Patient

The main obstacle to getting better results is the patient’s attitude. This may seem harsh but this is the reality. Even the simplest vitiligo cases can fail to improve in difficult patients. These are the patients who only listen or understand what they want to hear or grasp and only do the things that they enjoy doing. They are not interested in listening or understanding what they need to hear and grasp. They don’t take any actions that are required from them to combat their vitiligo. Success is elusive for them. Such patients often quit the treatment and experience more adverse effects. They are frustrated by the process and never reach the desired outcome. They are never satisfied with the treatment and their only goal is to have convenient treatment with unrealistic expectations, without any commitment, resolve, discipline and involvement or being compliant. They are always busy and have no time for their vitiligo fight and not willing to make changes in their life style, diet, stress levels, skin care and never adhere to the treatment and follow-ups.
